A principal research objective is to crash test improvements for the side mounted fuel tank on older models of General Motors C-10 pickups. The mandate for ASRI is: "to focus on applying research from the GM-funded Research Project and any other applicable research to the design, development testing, and implementation of fuel system safety enhancements for C/K trucks."
ASRI is seeking manufacturers to fabricate a retrofit center-mounted tank that has passed severe crash testing. The tank specifications may be viewed by clicking on the links shown below. Interested manufacturers should call or e-mail ASRI.
